Our Cuisine

At The White Room, we are passionate about great food. We're very proud of the food we serve and we're sure you'll love it too. Over the fourteen seasons we have been running chalet holidays, we have steadily gained a reputation for excellent food with no fuss. We have a policy of only recruiting experienced chefs to work in our chalets. Our chefs have often worked in fine-dining environments in top hotels and restaurants. Our food is freshly cooked every day, using the best ingredients we can source and our hosts serve meals in a relaxed, but professional, manner.

All our catered accomodation prices include meals on a half-board basis. This includes hot breakfast every day, three-course dinner every evening (except Wednesday) and all the cakes, tea, coffee, wine and beer you could wish for. We really like cake and we've had so many requests for our cake recipes that we've created The Cake Page.


We work with a local supplier to offer a choice of quality wines. Typically we'll have at least two different reds and whites for you to choose from, with some added options on special occasions. For each season, we select a range of wines which are both interesting and very drinkable. Wines we have previously selected have included house reds Les Deux Lezards Coteaux de Languedoc and Le Vieux Prieuré. Whites have included Cuvée Dolmens, which surprised us with its complex, flowery flavours, and wine from the Domaine Vigne-Lourac in the South-West. Another favourite for special occasions, are wines from Château d'Or et de Gueules.

Special Diets

Our experienced chefs are very happy to cater for special diets and have catered for many different dietary requirements in the past. We believe in really looking after people with special diets and provide properly tasty and interesting food - not just the same as everyone else with some things taken out. In fact, we've often had people ask for these specialist recipes to take home! Our local suppliers carry a good range of ingredients; however, we really do appreciate our guests letting us know at the earliest opportunity if they have special requirements as it can take time to source certain things.

Eating Out

We take one night off per week (usually Wednesday). This is your opportunity to sample the wares of the local restaurants. All our chalets are located close to a good range of restaurants from simple pizzerias - great for kids - to fine dining restaurants for those looking to spoil themselves a little! Our chalet hosts will be happy to advise you and to make you a reservation. It's worth noting that the restaurants do tend to get very booked up on peak weeks, so it can be worth doing a little research (and even making a reservation) before you arrive.
