The Chalet

The chalet is located in the upper part of Sainte Foy resort, meaning that in the winter it is one of only a small number of chalets which are ski-to-door. For most of the season, you can strap your board on or click into your skis a few metres from our back door and ride straight to the chairlift. At the end of the day, you can ride right back to the same spot. The resort's shops, bars and restaurants are a couple of minutes' walk away. Click here for location map (click map to enlarge).

Chalet TinTin provides a mixture of accommodation, sleeping up to 12 people in total. We have four double bedrooms; 2 double bedrooms with vanity unit and en-suite shower/WC and one double/twin bedroom with a large shared bathroom across the corridor plus a further a further double/twin bedroom on the middle floor. In addition, we have a quirky mezzanine level with double bed and bunks on the lower floor. Let us know what mixture of accomodation your group needs and we will be happy to advise what will work best for you. Downstairs we have ample secure storage space for skis and boards and a maintenance/servicing area complete with ski/board vices and tools for emergency repairs. On the top floor, we have a spacious lounge and dining area, complete with Satellite Freeview, DVD player, PS2, wireless net access and breathtaking views.

The lounge
Chalet TinTin's lounge is a bit special and is something that still takes our breath away every time we come up the stairs. The lounge and dining area are open-plan and fronted by huge panoramic windows with a completely unbroken view across the valley to Mont Pourri and the Aiguille Rouge. The lounge has comfy leather sofas, a big open fire and is kitted out with TV, satellite box, DVD player (and loads of DVDs), stereo (with IPod dock) and a PS2.

The en-suite rooms
On the middle floor of the chalet there are two double rooms, each with an en-suite shower, loo and wash-basin. These rooms both have windows with spectacular views, large wardrobes and double beds.
The ground-floor double
On the ground floor, there is a large double bedroom. This is the largest room in the chalet. It is normally set-up as a spacious double bedroom, but can also be set-up as a twin room with the addition of a proper single bed (not a folding or couch bed). This room isn't en-suite, but the main chalet bathroom plus the extra loo/wash-basin are just across the hallway.
The bread-oven room
NEW FOR WINTER 2009/2010 - THE OVEN ROOM GETS A DOOR! In time for this winter, we'll be constructing a new wall to make the Oven Room into a proper room with a door and everything. It'll be pretty cosy but a perfectly comfortable room which can be set up as either a double or a twin. Guests staying in the oven room use the main bathroom (down one flight of stairs).
The Mezzanine
The mezzanine area is a wooden platform built in the high roof-space above the open-plan living/dining area on the top floor. This quirky area has a low double bed and drawers and hooks for storage. The sleeping area is completely enclosed by curtains for privacy, but obviously noise can filter up from the living area if you go for an early night while other guests are still up and about. Guests staying in the mezzanine use the main bathroom on the ground floor (down 3 flights of stairs).
The Bunks
The bunks have been neatly built-in below the stairs on the ground floor. Each has an individual curtain for privacy, but there is minimal space to store your stuff and no privacy at all once you're out of bed! Great for kids whose parents are staying in the ground-floor double room. Note that the top bunk is a little short (OK for me at 5'11", but awkward for anyone taller).
