Yoga Ski & Snowboard Retreat

20th to 27th March 2016 - €780

Add a sprinkling of yoga goodness to your winter holiday this year. Allow your body and mind to relax and recuperate whilst enjoying all the usual trimmings of a fabulous ski or board trip. Yoga is about living life the best way possible. A healthy body helps build a healthy mind but fine food and wine, fun in the snow and a good old dose of laughter helps too. Everything but in moderation.

Classes will take a light hearted, down to earth approach to yoga with a focus on healthy alignment, breath awareness and mindfulness techniques. Open to all levels from those just wanting to try it out, to more seasoned yogis there’ll be something for everyone. In the morning we will awaken our muscles ready for a full day in the snow, strengthening and stretching the main muscle groups to optimise performance on the slopes. Evening classes will be more restorative, encouraging the body to recuperate ready for another day of action or relaxation.

For the last couple of years, we've been practising yoga to keep our bodies supple and our minds in balance while we run a busy business and work ourselves hard on skis, snowboards and mountain bikes. Yoga and skiing/snowboarding go very well together, with the yoga both helping the body to recover from the strain and impact on the mountain and also encouraging flexibility, balance and body awareness to prepare your body for flow sports.

Our yoga ski & snowboard retreat will be based in chalet Maison le Foret, with skiing at La Rosiere. In a beautiful, peaceful location; the chalet is very spacious, providing room for in-house yoga classes. The chalet also has large, sunny balconies with spectacular, open views down the valley. If the weather is co-operative, we may be able to run some sessions outside.

We are working in partnership with local yoga teacher Mary Gordon-Cumming, an experienced and qualified yoga teacher, who is also a keen skier and snowboarder and a trained Massage Therapist.
